Blushing Sunset

We’ve had colder weather with snow and rain the past few days. It’s a good time to paint and write. Though I no longer live near the ocean or water of any kind for that matter, this painting was inspired by a love for sitting quietly on a dock listening to gentle waves roll in and out.

Snow on the ground and a broken furnace makes for a perfect day to remain bundled up in layers, drinking hot chocolate and painting. It takes my mind off of being cold! Was thinking about heels as transportation which inspired this painting

Barefoot in the Rain

As a light rain increases, she opens an umbrella and thinks about slipping back into her galoshes. Though the sensible thing to do, she decides to leave them off as she relishes standing in quiet thought. The sound of the droplets falling onto the umbrella and hitting the deck make her smile. She enjoys the connection she feels with the moment and the play on her senses… everything heightened in her awareness that life is fresh and renewed.

Blog Update and News

I’ve been working on integrating my two blogs (fashion & shoe blog and website blog) … bringing together all of my art and writing under one blog that reflects the website. That’s why the new look!

This year, the focus is mostly on painting fashion and shoes. Participating in several art festivals in 2012, I have designed the booth display around fashion paintings and shoe art that includes a mixed media of paintings, prints, and paper mache. I’m excited about taking this new direction with my art. I am also selling fashion and shoe art at women’s fashion boutiques, specialty gift shops and other unique venues.

Posts will continue to primarily focus on current fashion and shoe artwork. However, it will not be the only thing posted. When I’m moved to paint a landscape like this recent piece, I will post it to this newly integrated blog. I hope you enjoy all of my colorful digital art!

Silver Celebration

I’ve been painting all day … cold outside with a silver sky of thick fog. Strangely, the silver shades of a foggy day poured into my color choices. That and silver high heels with thoughts of a cool blue drink of Hypnotiq became perfect inspirations.

A Silver Bullet …

2 oz. Hpnotiq
2 oz. Super Premium White Tequila
Splash of Lime Juice

Mix ingredients over ice in a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. Here’s the painting inspired by the drink:

Navy, Peridot & Nude

I love styling and creating a visual catalog as inspiration for when I shop. This helps me remain focused on creating a balanced wardrobe that I can mix and mingle. My personal style is relaxed glamor, modern sophisticate, natural casual and understated elegance. Here are a couple of looks I’ve been creating for my wardrobe inspiration.

This last one, my inspiration was a dress I just purchased. Originally, I was thinking of a black and white heel. Okay, that’s acceptable. However, I wanted a pop of color. I’m thinking pink!
